International Social Survey Program

Since 1985, the GSS has participated in the International Social Survey Program (ISSP). The ISSP involves social scientists from 47 countries and is still expanding. Each year, sections of the GSS are devoted to ISSP questions that are asked in nations around the world.

The National Congregations Study

The NCS was a hypernetwork samples of religious congregations based on the 1998 and 2006 GSSs. It documented the work, programs, and activities of America's religious congregations. This survey was conducted by NORC in collaboration with Professor Mark Chaves at the University of Arizona.
